I believe pictures of people should have meaning, context and emotion.  During photo shoots, I strive to help people feel comfortable.  Our time is unrushed.  You can be goofy, serious,  talkative, whatever suits your personality...  My goal is not just a good picture, but one where personality shines through.

In my purely artistic work, I enjoy exploring intersections of civilization and nature, order and chaos, and the old and the new. I‘m drawn to the beauty created when the forces of nature and time take over structures built by people. Likewise, I find intriguing the places in urban settings where individuals and communities artistically redefine “planned” spaces.

Originally from Seattle, I came to Boston in 1988 to attend Harvard University. I began my study of photography in studio courses while an undergraduate, and have continued my development through workshops, seminars and self-study. I have since made a home in New Rochelle, NY.

My photography has appeared in the Boston Globe, Jewish Advocate, Christian Science Journal, America 24/7 Book Project, and Diaspora Journal of Black Culture at Harvard University.
